Recently, I attended the 2010 Champions in Health Awards Dinner which raised money for Community Health Charities (CHC). According to its web site, “CHC Community Health Charities of Kentucky is a federation of state’s premier health organizations that have joined together to raise charitable contributions in the workplace.”
CHC’s charities include:
Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana |
American Diabetes Association, Kentucky Affiliate |
American Lung Association of Kentucky |
Arthritis Foundation Ohio River Valley Chapter |
Brain Injury Alliance of Kentucky |
Community Health Charities of Kentucky |
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Kentucky Chapter |
Epilepsy Foundation of Kentuckiana |
Harbor House of Louisville, Inc. |
Huntington’s Disease Society of America, Kentucky Chapter |
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation |
Kentucky & So. Indiana Stroke Association |
Kentucky Hemophilia Foundation |
Kosair Children’s Hospital |
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Inc.,The |
Mental Health America of Kentucky |
Muscular Dystrophy Association – Greater Louisville |
National Multiple Sclerosis Society KY-SE Indiana Chapter |
Ovarian Awareness of Kentucky, Inc. |
Parkinson Support Center of Kentuckiana |
Sickle Cell Association of Kentuckiana |
Special Olympics Kentucky |
Spina Bifida Association of Kentucky |
Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Lexington Affiliate |
Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Louisville Affiliate |
These organizations do great work for the people of greater Louisville and are completely self-supporting. They receive little or no support from Metro United Way and are dependent upon the support of people in the community.
Consider supporting one or more of these organizations financially, either through CHC or directly with the organization.
