State Health Facts Goes Mobile

Kaiser’s website containing state data has gone mobile. State Health Facts announced its new app recently and that drew my attention, as I guess the smart guys at Kaiser intended, to the website.

Take a look at Kentucky compared to the nation as a whole beginning by clicking here. People living in poverty, uninsured population, infant mortality, childhood obesity, adults with diabetes, etc. etc. Dismal.

Dr. Hiram Polk, former Chair of the Department of Surgery at the University of Louisville recently commented that the Kaiser Family Foundation was one of the best sources for objective, factual information about the health care system and the reform initiative.

So, Kaiser (and the numbers) don’t lie. We have a public health crisis in Kentucky and it’s not getting better, yet.
