1957 Redux Redux

Recently I compared the passage of the 1957 civil rights legislation (found here) to today’s legislative effort to enact reforms the health care “system.” And, I commented about the relative merits of an evolutionary change versus a revolution (found here).

Hendrik Hertzberg writes in the New Yorker (Um, Pathetic) with a similar take and comments about the impact of anger on one’s behavior and reactions. Hertzberg takes the democratic left to task in this case.

It’s worth reading.
